We are so excited to share with you that we are beginning the process to adopt domestically! God has been speaking to us about this for over 2 years, but we took the big leap in obedience to His calling this past week and turned in the application! We certainly appreciate your prayers as we will be trusting God to lead and provide as this can be a long and expensive process! We are so excited though, and Layne is beyond thrilled to be a big sister! We spent our weekend filling out the first huge packet of paperwork in preparation for home study visit one this coming Thursday, March 10th.
Would you like to be a “piece” of our adoption journey?! First and foremost, we greatly appreciate your prayers! We can’t wait to share our journey with you! Second, we are beginning a puzzle fundraiser to help bring Baby Boyd home! We will have a few fundraisers during this process as the cost of a domestic adoption is approximately $30,000. There are various scholarships that we will apply for, but that won’t be available until farther down the road of this journey. Most of them have various specifications as to where you have to be in the process before applying. However, we serve a BIG God and believe that He can make this happen, even if it is a large number!
So, how can you be a “piece” of our journey?!
We have chosen a gender neutral 500 piece puzzle. Each piece is available for purchase at a minimum of $10. You choose what each piece is worth, and we will write your name on that piece. Not only does this help us financially, but it will also be a beautiful visual for our son or daughter to constantly remind them of how much they were loved from the very beginning! We will post updates on facebook as the puzzle comes together, and once complete it will be framed for the nursery!
You can donate by paying cash or check directly to Sherman or Jessica Boyd. You may also donate on our website www.ShermanCBoyd.com. Just click donate on the homepage. FYI you don't have to have a paypal account. If you don't click the continue link on bottom left on the link.
We are so thankful for each of you!
Sherman, Jessica, and Layne
