Let me start with a “Thank You” for your prayers, love, and support! Jessica and I know that God has given us an incredible peace and rest that can only come from the Holy Spirit. I know that peace is directly related to your prayers! Today we had our “next step” consultation with our surgeon Dr. Laura Williams. She entered the room saying that the scans Jessica had this past Thursday “looked great”! Thank you Jesus!! After reviewing these scans and further investigating the original cell samples, Dr. Williams was ready and confident in her recommendation for the best treatment. The cancer is small, but the cell type is fairly aggressive, so she believes the best treatment plan is to perform the open, more involved hysterectomy. The uterus, some adjacent tissue, and lymph nodes will be removed. Her surgery is scheduled for Thursday, June 4th at 8:30am.
There will be a 3-4 day hospital stay followed by a 6 week recovery. According to the paperwork, she won’t be snow skiing or horseback riding for at least 6 weeks. For that matter, she won’t be able to lift anything over 5lbs either. ; )
Jessica is doing great and has already used her story to impact others. Our faith has truly been strengthened during this process.
We still covet your prayers because we believe that our God hears and answers the prayers of His people! We still do not plan to tell Layne anything until after her dance recital on May 30th. How Layne handles things is one of Jessica’s main concerns. Thank you for your prayers for our sweet girl too. God is good and has already taught us so much through this!
Deuteronomy 31:8 “It is the LORD who goes before you. He will be with you; he will not leave you or forsake you. Do not fear or be dismayed.”
